Storms and Rainbows

Last night I saw the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen from my back yard. Not only was it  a vivid, full rainbow, but it was also a double.

I am thinking today about rainbows and when they appear. Yesterday was grey, gloomy and rainy, then when the sun came out  the beautiful rainbow appeared.

Rainbows remind me of God’s promises,  that He has it all under control and I can trust Him in everything. When life is grey, gloomy, rainy and stormy, I know that the “rainbow” will come. I might not always see it but I know it is there.

He sent His son Jesus to make all things new and we have the promise of a new life in Him. I can look back and see the dreary storms He has brought me through with a promise of a new day .  Just as He placed the first rainbow in the sky with His promise, we can trust in all His promises to us. We can believe when He said, “I will never leave you or forsake you”,” I am with you always”,” God causes all things to work  out for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose”, etc…..

What promises, “rainbows” are most precious to you?

I would love to hear from you, what are your “rainbows” in the storm?

The promise of eternity with Him is my rainbow. When I remind myself that my destiny is bigger than my dilemma it’s easy to see that this is not my home.
