Peace

Are you in the midst of a “storm” you can’t seem to get out of, lacking peace or in constant anxiety and stress?

There is an answer. When we are in relationship with Jesus, He is our peace!

In John chapters 13-16 Jesus is telling His disciples what was going to happen and it would cause grief, fear, uneasiness and rejection. It was a really big “storm”, but in the midst of it He wanted them to know and remember that He loved them, was with them and was their joy and peace.

Peace is not the absence of conflict but well being and calm in the midst of the storm, free from inner turmoil. As believers we have peace because Jesus is our peace and is the giver of peace.

When We are tempted to fret and expect things to be without conflict, or unhappy by the “storm”, in our lives, we need to remember we already have peace and act upon it, knowing where it comes from.

Scripture tells us many times that Jesus is our peace, He made peace and gives peace:

Isaiah 9:6 He is Prince of peace
Romans 5:1 we have peace with God because of Jesus
Galatians 5:22 peace is given to us by the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 2:14 -15 Jesus is our peace and established it
Philippians 4:7 God’s peace will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus
Colossians 1:20 Jesus made peace through His blood on the cross

Father , thank you that Jesus has made peace between us and You, that He is our peace. Thank you that because of Him we do not have to fear or worry about the storms of life but have peace in the midst of them. Help me not to forget that and to act upon what has already been given through Jesus. To take you at your word and believe it!

At one point, I was so extremely anxious. And I knew His word. His truth about peace. But sometimes it takes stooping low to really understand His love, grace, and peace. but I wouldn’t take any of it back. My faith is stronger than ever.
